June

The
Friday Center
Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
Invitation
Dear Colleagues,
With great pleasure we invite you to the Purines 2004 meeting, which
will take place in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from June 6 through
June 9, 2004. Scientific sessions will be held in the William C.
Friday Center, a modern meeting facility at the University of North
Carolina.
The meeting takes place in the beautiful verdant piedmont area of
central North Carolina. Excellent accommodations, restaurants, and
shopping are in close proximity to the meeting venue. Outstanding
museums and gardens also can be enjoyed nearby, as are many outdoor
activities including some of the finest golf courses in the United
States. We are proud of our very strong research universities, the
University of North Carolina, Duke University, and North Carolina
State University, all three located nearby in Chapel Hill, Durham,
and Raleigh, respectively. These three cities encircle the world
famous Research Triangle Park with its large number of facilities
of the drug, biotechnology, and technology industries. Beautiful
Atlantic Ocean beaches, including 100 miles of National Seashore
on the Outer Banks, exist 150-200 miles to the east, and the peaceful
Appalachian Mountains, including the highest peak of the eastern
United States, are 150-200 miles to the west. Washington, D.C. is
an easy 4-5 hour drive to the north.
An outstanding scientific program is in its final stages of organization.
Our intention is an action-packed three and half day meeting with
an optimum blend of plenary speakers, symposia on cutting-edge topics,
and highly interactive poster sessions. Our social events also promise
to be enjoyable. The organizers welcome suggestions at info@purines.org.
We sincerely hope that you will be able to attend Purines 2004,
and we look forward to welcoming you to Chapel Hill and North Carolina
next June.
Sincerely,
Organizing Committee, Purines 2004
